I have been hearing a lot of talk about the calendars that are being used, (or not used), as part of the prophesied day of the Lord’s return that so many believers (and non-believers) are discussing ad nauseam. It’s created some controversary that I thought I would chime in to help with all of the calendar hoopla. First of all, when it comes to studying the sequence of Bible prophecy, we need to begin with the Feasts of the Lord (Leviticus 23) and understand how these seven feasts tie into God’s panoramic plan for the world. The first four feasts, the Spring feasts, have already been fulfilled by Jesus. On Passover, Jesus died on the cross for our sins. At Unleavened Bread, He was buried in a borrowed tomb. On Firstfruits, Jesus resurrected from the grave. On Pentecost, Jesus sent us His Holy Spirit to empower His Church so we could preach the gospel for the next two millennia. The first four fall feasts of the Lord have been fulfilled.
The question is, which calendar were these four feasts completed on? Was it the Gregorian calendar? It couldn’t have been because that calendar wasn’t conceived and enacted until the 16th century (1582) under Pope Gregory. The calendar that was being used in Christ’ day was the Julian calendar, under Julias Ceaser of Rome. If this is the case, then it would seem logical that the same Julian calendar that was used for the first four feasts would be used for the three remaining feasts to be fulfilled. There’s about a 13 day difference between the two calendars, but the sequence is still the same. This information would have been useful before everybody got fixated on the September date for the Feast of Trumpets. I believe that God used the mix up to test our hearts and to see how we would respond to the perceived delay.
As a watcher, I found myself disappointed; but I feel this way every year after the Feast of Trumpets passes. However, I never stay there and I don’t attack other people for watching and hoping. I know that God has a specific day and time that He is coming for us; we don’t know when that is; but He will return for us one day. We can all rejoice in this truth and be hopeful in knowing that the Lord loves us and will receive us to Himself before He brings judgment upon this world in the seven-year tribulation.
The Feast of Trumpets is the first fall feast, then ten days later (Days of Awe), we have the Feast of Atonement, then five days after that we have the Feast of Tabernacles. This will wrap up the fall feasts for another year. This being the case, on October 6th & 7th the Feast of Trumpets occurs on the Julian calendar; this is what we used to call the Real Rosh. While the Gregorian calendar date is 10/6,7/25; the Julian calendar date is 9/23,24/25; does this look familiar? Many are wondering if this is what brother Joshua was referring to when he gave this date. Time will tell if brother Joshua is the real deal or not. I did see an AI video that projected his image where he was apologizing for his deception. I knew it was a lie because Joshua is still standing his ground regarding the word that God gave him. Albeit, the calendar issue was a significant challenge, however, we will all know for sure in a few days.
In the meantime, I can see other things brewing like the gridlock in our government between the Democrats and Republicans over the budget. If they don’t get that passed, the lack of a Rapture will be the least of our problems. We have enemy nations bent on destroying us and without a working government, we’re a proverbial sitting duck. I believe that God will use this perceived delay to test our spiritual resolve, faith, and patience. Let’s wait and see as we endure forward, praying as we go,
The Prophet Habakkuk said it this way, “Write the vision and make it plain on tablets, that he may run who reads it. 3 For the vision is yet for an appointed time; but at the end it will speak, and it will not lie. Though it tarries, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.” – Habakkuk 2:2,3
For those of you who are watching and waiting, just know that God is good to His Word. He will come. It’s His promise to us. Be patient, love others, be a good witness, and remain faithful; we’re almost home.
Maranatha!
