With all of the activity happening in Israel right now and the residual effects this will have on the entire middle eastern region (and the world), I thought it prudent to post some of my thoughts on the matter; after all, everyone else seems to be doing this. First of all, I believe that the conflict that we are seeing right now in Israel between the people of Palestine and the Jews is the beginning phases of the Psalm 83 war. After reading Bill Salas’ book with the same title ( I recommend it), I am convinced that what is happening right now in Israel and the surrounding nations is Psalm 83 manifesting right before our eyes; on this side of the Rapture.
War is horrific, but what these Hamas terrorists have done is beyond barbaric, it’s demonic. Without getting into the graphics of this statement, suffice it to say, an end time scenario is being unfolded right before us. God is in control and keeping watch over every person and situation that is manifesting there.
The way this may play out is Psalm 83 happens first, then Isaiah 17 with the total decimation of Damascus, and then the Ezekiel 38,39 war with Russia. Iran, and Turkey invading Israel, to no avail. Somewhere in the midst of this we are going to have a Rapture; so stand by brothers (and sisters), God is getting ready to begin Daniel’s 70th week very soon. Before that can happen, we, the Church, have to be gone baby!
As far as Psalm 83 goes, Asaph wrote it . He was an OT prophet, or a ‘seer’ (2 Chronicles 29:30), like Isaiah, Jeremiah, and Ezekiel. The word for seer (Hebrew: chozeh) means ‘a prophet or a beholder of vision.’ This psalm is of great importance in these last days. It describes an Arab-Israeli war that was prophesied by Asaph over 3,000 years ago. The Arab confederates of Psalm 83 form a war plan to eradicate the Jews from their land
The outcomes is that Israel wins (Jeremiah 31:35-37). Some believe that this psalm is only a prayer to God for His divine protection against the enemies of the Jews.
“Do not keep silent, O God! Do not hold Your peace, and do not be still, O God! 2 For behold, Your enemies make a tumult (uproar); and those who hate You have lifted up their head (exalted themselves). 3 They have taken crafty counsel against Your people, and consulted together against Your sheltered ones. 4 They have said, “Come, and let us cut them off from being a nation, that the name of Israel may be remembered no more.” – (vs.1-4)
While I believe that it’s a prayer, I also believe that it’s a prophetic word and one that is happening right now!
“For they have consulted together with one consent (heart); they form a confederacy (cut a covenant) against You: 6 The tents of Edom and the Ishmaelites; Moab and the Hagrites; 7 Gebal, Ammon, and Amalek; Philistia with the inhabitants of Tyre; 8 Assyria also has joined with them; they have helped the children of Lot. Selah.” – (vs.5-8)
- The inhabitants of Tyre could be Hamas and Hezbollah, but it can also include other enemy nations that are local to Israel and who have a common anti-Semitic sentiment toward Israel. Their goal it so kill all of the Jews and take over her land.
While this blog is NOT a detailed teaching on this psalm, each of these nations mentioned can be traced to modern day nations who are bent on Israel’s destruction.
“Deal with them as with Midian, as with Sisera, as with Jabin at the Brook Kishon, 10 Who perished at En Dor, who became as refuse on the earth. 11 Make their nobles like Oreb and like Zeeb, yes, all their princes like Zebah and Zalmunna, 12 Who said, “Let us take for ourselves the pastures of God for a possession.” – (vs.9-12)
- It would seem that God’s blessing upon the Jews is appealing to her enemies and they want those ‘goodies,’ but first, they have to contend with the Jews. While it may seem that this small nation (about the size of New Jersey) with her limited number of people would be an easy target, I assure you, it only seems that way. The Lord God Almighty keeps watch over His chosen people and will defend them.
“O my God, make them like the whirling dust, like the chaff before the wind! 14 As the fire burns the woods, and as the flame sets the mountains on fire, 15 So pursue them with Your tempest, and frighten them with Your storm. 16 Fill their faces with shame, that they may seek Your name, O Lord. 17 Let them be confounded (ashamed) and dismayed forever;
Yes, let them be put to shame and perish, 18 That they may know that You, whose name alone is the Lord, are the Most High over all the earth.” – (vs.13-18)
- However God does it, this invasion of local enemies of Israel will not prevail. We may not be here to actually see how it ends, but we can at least read about it in scripture.
What will happen is that more and more nations will join in the fight against Israel. America, at first, will come to her aid, however this will end. We may be here to witness the Isaiah 17 destruction of Damascus, however, we may not be either. Something is going to happen to America that will disrupt her to continuance in this fight and by the time we get to the Ezekiel 38,39 war, nobody is coming to Israel’s aid; except God. The Lord will show Himself strong in Israel’s defense and the world will know there is a God in heaven who keeps watch over Israel; He is as holy as He is righteous. In the Ezekiel war, Russia, Iran, and Turkey are destroyed.
My heart says that we, as believers, are not long for this world. Our removal from the planet at the Rapture will cause a number of other events to occur that will plumet this world into further chaos. While I can see the forming up of all of these end time events happening all around, I am not worried or concerned so much, as I am sad for those left behinders who really didn’t have to be. All they have to do is to reach out to the Christ, inviting Him to be the Lord of their life by surrendering their life to Christ and receiving His forgiveness for their sin and His salvation by grace.
This is the ONLY way.
Whatever happens over the course of the next few days, I challenge you to be ready, seek the Lord while He may be found, and pray for the peace of Jerusalem (Psalm 122:6-9) .
